Location: Governor Thomas Johnson High School is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains approximately 60 miles north of Washington, D.C., and 50 miles west of Baltimore, Maryland. We have a unique blend of students hailing from Urban, Suburban, and Rural homes within our school district.

Curriculum:
TJ offers academic courses (English, mathematics, science, social studies) on the following instruction levels: Honors (H), Merit (M), Directed (D), Advanced Placement (AP)
Schedule:
The two semester block (4x4) schedule allows students to earn up to four credits each semester in 80-minute classes. It is therefore possible for a student to complete, for example, both French I and French II in the same year, or both AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC. These are separate, full-credit courses completed in one semester (half-year) each. There is a 45 minute class period each day devoted to CONNECT where students can meet with teachers for extra help, join a club, complete homework, complete guidance tasks and etc.
